If you’re like most people, you probably have an Echo device sitting around somewhere. But if you don’t, or if you just don’t have one, there are a few ways to get started with Echo. The first way is to buy one of the Echo devices from Amazon. You can also rent them or buy them outright. The second way is to use an Echo app on your phone or computer. The third way is to connect your Echo device to the internet and use an ethernet cord to do so. The fourth way is the easiest and most common: just connect your Echo device to a power outlet and plug in the ethernet cord. Once that’s done, you can start using your Echo devices by going into the “Echo” section of your Amazon account and clicking on “Echo Devices.”

You can pair each Echo device in your home with up to four Echo Buttons, which is useful if you play any trivia-style games on the Echo. But you can do a lot more with it than that. Everything about the Buttons is simple, from using them (just press the button!) to getting the devices paired to your Echo. And the box includes everything you need, even batteries.  Once you have the batteries installed, pairing is a simple affair.

Paring a Button the Simple Way

First press and hold the button until it turns orange (about five to ten seconds).

Then use the voice command again.

Pairing a Button Manually

First, open the Alexa App and tap the hamburger button in the upper right corner.

Tap the “Settings” option.

Tap “Device Settings.”

Choose the Echo device to which you want to pair the button and then tap “Bluetooth Devices.”

Tap the “Pair A New Device” button.

Press and hold the Echo Button until the light turns orange. When pairing is complete, the Echo Button will turn Blue.

You can then repeat the process for any other buttons you want to add. Once paired, you can connect the Echo button to skills, games, and routines.
