If you’re an Amazon customer, it’s important to remember your Amazon account password. If you lose your password, you could lose access to all of your purchases and other account information. To keep your Amazon account safe, it’s best to change your Amazon account password at least once a year. Here are some tips on how to do this:

  1. Make a list of all of the items in your Amazon account that are connected to your password (e.g., books, movies, music). This will help you remember which items need to be protected if you lose your password.
  2. Create a new password for each item in your list. You can use any word or phrase that you want, but make sure it is at least 8 characters long and has at least one letter and one number in it. For example, “password” would be a good choice for an Amazon account password.
  3. Save the new passwords in a safe place (like a locked cabinet). You should also create two separate passwords for each device that uses the same name (like an iPhone and an iPad). One for the computer where you store the new passwords and one for the device itself (like an Android phone).
  4. Use these new passwords when logging into your Amazon account on any device: Your computer: login_name@amazonsite.com Your phone: login_name@ipad-apple-com Your tablet: login_name@tablet-ipadcom Your Kindle Fire: kindlefire@amazoncom

On the “Your Account” page that opens, select “Login & Security.”

You’re now on the “Login & Security” page. Here, next to “Password,” click “Edit.”

Lastly, beneath the “Reenter New Password” field, click the “Save Changes” button.

You’ll see a “Hello” screen. Here, at the top, tap “Your Account.”
