If you’re a Discord user, you know that bots are a great way to automate your chat. They can help you with things like joining and leaving chats, or sending messages to other users. But what if you want to add a bot to your chat without having to learn how to create and use a bot? There’s a way! First, you’ll need to create an account on Discord. Once you’ve created an account, go to the “bots” tab and click on the “create new bot” button. You’ll be given some basic information about your new bot, such as its name and description. Next, decide what type of bot you want to create. There are three types of bots: voice bots, image bots, and text bots. Voice Bots Voice bots are the simplest type of bot: they just talk! To create one, just enter your voice into the “name” field and click on the “create” button. Your new voicebot will be created and stored in your chatroom. You can use it any time you want! Image Bots Imagebots are more complex than voicebots but they’re still easy to use. To create one, just enter an image into the “name” field and click on the “create” button. Your new imagebot will be created and stored in your chatroom with all of your other images! You can use it any time you want! Text Bots Text bots are even more complex than image or voicebots but they’re still easy to use. To create one, just enter text into the “name” field and click on the “create” button. Your new textbot will be created and stored in your chatroom with all of your other text messages! You can use it any time you want!

By adding a bot to your Discord server, you can automate many tasks like monitoring member behavior, generating memes, and managing customer service queues. We’ll show you how to add one to your server.

First, Enable the “Manage Server” Permission

To add a bot to your Discord server, you need the “Manage Server” permission for your user account. Your server’s admin can grant this permission to your user role from the server settings menu (the steps on how to do this are below.)

If you have this permission already, you can skip to the next section.

To enable this permission using an admin account, launch Discord in a web browser on your Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook computer. You can use the Discord client, but since you’ll have to log in to Discord on the web to add a server anyway, we suggest you use the web version.

On the Discord site, in the sidebar to the left, select the server you want to add a bot to.

Your server screen will open. On this screen, beside your server’s name in the top-left corner, click the down-arrow icon.

In the down-arrow icon menu, choose “Server Settings.”

On the “Server Overview” page that opens, in the sidebar to the left, choose “Roles.”

Select the user role that you’d like to give permission to add bots.

On the “Edit Role” page, at the top, click the “Permissions” tab.

In the “Permissions” tab, turn on the “Manage Server” option.

A prompt will appear at the bottom of the page. Click “Save Changes” in this prompt to save your newly made changes.

And that’s how you allow a user to add bots to your Discord server!

Next, Find a Discord Bot

If you haven’t already, it’s time to find the bot that you want to add to your Discord server. There are a few online Discord bot repositories that offer hundreds of free Discord bots to add to your server.

Some of these repositories are Carbonitex, Top.gg, and GitHub. Feel free to use any of these sites, or you can even make your own Discord bot.

Finally, Add the Selected Bot to Your Server

When you’ve decided on a bot that you’d like to add to your server, you can start the add process. On the site where you found the bot, you’ll see an option saying “Add Bot to Server,” “Invite,” or a similar option. You’ll use this option to add the bot to your server.

As an example, we’ll install the “April” bot from the Top.gg site. To do this, access the April bot’s web page in a web browser on your computer. On the right of the web page, click “Invite.”

The site will open a new tab in your browser. In this new tab, click the “Add to Server” drop-down menu and select your Discord server. Then click “Continue.”

Discord will display a list of permissions that will be granted to your bot. At the bottom of this permissions list, click “Authorize.”

Confirm the captcha on your screen.

The bot will ask to access your Discord account details. Confirm this by clicking “Authorize” at the bottom of the page.

Next, the bot will take you to its site where you can configure various options for the bot. Here, you can specify how the bot should work with your Discord server.

To confirm the bot is indeed added to your server, access your server on Discord. To the right of the server screen, you’ll see your newly added bot in the user list. This confirms the bot was successfully added.

And that’s how you can start automating tasks in your Discord server by adding a bot!

In case you don’t already know, there are many things you can do with a Discord server, including changing the server’s region. Good luck!
